A Little Bit About Me...

Hi! I'm Austin, or Tex, to anyone who’s known me longer than 10 minutes. I originally moved to Athens in 2003 to attend the University of Georgia where I met my wonderful wife Marissa. Although our careers took us away from Athens, we always loved coming back to visit and returning to the Classic City was always in the back of our minds.

After over a decade working in non-profit and moving our family thousands of miles across the county – multiple times, we (and everyone who had helped us move) decided it was time to settle down. As life long Dawg fans, lovers of music, and wannabe foodies, Athens was an easy choice when deciding where to plant roots.

Growing up with a father and grandfather in the residential building industry, I developed an understanding and love for home construction and remodeling from a young age. After college, I put this knowledge to use in Mexico building houses, orphanages, and schools along the border. After four years in Mexico, I came back to the States with a slight comprehension of the Spanish language and a heavy appetite for tacos! Since returning, we have renovated two personal homes, spoken broken Spanish to many people, and eaten hundreds of tacos.
